Absalom gets ordained as Pastor
Mr Mamiza will be ordained at Maphala Gulube Primary School in eMbalenhle on Saturday night, 25 February by international archbishop Mr Mshengu Tshabalala from Believers in Christ Ministry.
eMBALENHLE – Mr Absalom Mamiza will be ordained as a pastor after he had served as a priest for eight years.
He joined the Believers in Christ Ministry in 1988 of which he is still a member.
Mr Mamiza was leading the Secunda branch and has now been deployed to be a pastor at the national bishop’s office.
He is also currently working at Sasol and most people at work do not know his real name, but call him uMfundisi, which means pastor.
His new appointment is based on the work he has done in the ministry.
When asked to share his journey of being a priest for eight years, Mr Mamiza said if there is something he would like to share it is the time when he was a branch leader while he was unemployed.
“That was the most difficult situation God has ever put me in.
Standing in front of the congregants and telling them God is the provider and the answer to all situations, was difficult.”
Mr Mamiza aims to give hope to those who are unemployed and are about to lose hope.
He also mentioned he always prays for the unemployed, because he understands the situation they are in.
He added that seeing people around him who are able to assist when he needed help, shows that when doors close for you, there is always a door that opens again
Mr Mamiza thanked the family that accepted him into their lives while he was not working and helped to close all the gaps until he got employed.
They said they helped Mr Mamiza when he was not working, because he helped them when they really needed help.
“I phoned him when we were in need of help and everyone turned against us, but he never gave us the excuse that he was unemployed and could not help.
“When we realised he was not working, we decided to return the favour and we are now happy to see him prospering in life,” said the man.
He further said Mr Mamiza is humble and is willing to help others.
When asked what he would say to people who do not go to church because of the impression that today’s churches are all about money, Mr Mamiza said: “They should not stop going to church because they do not have money.
“What if the devil is using their situation to turn them against God?”
Mr Mamiza will be ordained at Maphala Gulube Primary School in eMbalenhle on Saturday night, 25 February by international archbishop Mr Mshengu Tshabalala from Believers in Christ Ministry.
Archbishop Tshabalala referred to Mr Mamiza as someone who is humble and has been loyal to the church.
He talked about the time when the ministry was facing difficulties and a branch which Mr Mamiza was a member of was divided and most people left the ministry.
“The branch was left with only five people, but Mr Mamiza was one of those five people who stayed behind and rebuilt the branch.
“He is a man who does not give up easily and who puts his trust in God,” the archbishop said.
Snr Pastor Veli Nkosi said he worked with Mr Mamiza for more than five years and referred to him as someone who is always submissive to authority and is full of jokes.
“He is a reliable person who always goes all out to fulfil tasks allocated to him.”
He concluded with words of advice to Mr Mamiza: “All I can say is that you should know that challenges will always be there, but you will only conquer them through the wisdom from God.”
