Social workers refuse to back down

They refuse to go back to work until they receive a satisfactory response .

It has been four weeks since local social workers and South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) officials joined the nationwide strike and refuse to back down.

Work has come to a standstill due to the strike and the community can not get any assistance from these departments.

According to the protesters, resolutions were taken during the Social Work Indaba in 2015 that have not been implemented.

These include: a danger allowance, rural allowance and salary re-grading just to name a few.

They refuse to go back to work until they receive a satisfactory response for Ms Bathabile Dlamini, Minister of  the Department of Social Development.
