BREAKING NEWS: One dies in accident between Standerton and Secunda

According to information received, the driver of the bakkie died in the accident.

24 May – 2nm

Circumstances surrounding the accident are still vague.

Mr Emmenis along with a few farmers helped to regulate traffic on the scene.

Lekwa Fire Brigade also arrived on the scene to assist.

The bakkie lost its load and it was scattered across the road.

Police and ambulance services are currently on the scene and medics are attending to those injured.

Mr Nico Emmenis drove behind the vehicles when the incident occurred.

According to him, the tyre of the bakkie burst and subsequently the driver lost control of the vehicle.

A Hilux bakkie and another vehicle crashed into each other between Standerton and Secunda moments ago.

Two people were travelling in the bakkie while one person was on the back.

According to information received, the driver of the bakkie died in the accident.

Four people were travelling in the other vehicle and sustained only minor injuries.
