Govan Mbeki Municipality says it is dealing with waste backlog

Govan Mbeki Municipality said they have partially resolved the removal of refuse in most parts of the municipality.

The municipality was battling to collect waste as per the normal schedule due to the breakages of the compactor trucks over the past weeks.

Residents and businesses whose waste was not collected can contact the call centre at 0800 600 001/2/4 where they can report the backlog so it can be attended to by the waste section.

The municipality thanked locals for their patience.

They said they are working round the clock to bring the sustainable service delivery to all residents.
