The number of dog poisonings in the area is worrying.
Eight cases of dog poisoning were reported last week and six dogs died after they were poisoned in Kiaat Street.
The police urged residents to report cases of dog poisoning, because it can help them to see where burglaries will occur.
The Highveld Ridge SPCA sells first-aid packs for R25 that can save you some time to get your dog to the vet in case of poisoning.
These packs contain charcoal, salt, a syringe and gloves.
Ms Jenneth Geel, senior inspector at the SPCA, advised people to let their dogs sleep inside the house rather than outside.
She said they must inspect their gardens before letting the dogs out in the morning.
