Happy Todds Day Care often n floods when pipe for stormwater drainage overflows

According to Ms Van Deventer, the problem appears to be a blocked storm water pipe.

Every time Ms Samantha van Deventer notices rain clouds forming, her mood darkens.

There has been no silver lining over the past few months for this principal of Happy Todds Day Care and her staff.

Even the little ones appear fairly fed up with the damp and smelly carpet in their classroom.

The reason for their gloom is flooding.

When it rains, the school floods.

According to Ms Van Deventer, the problem appears to be a blocked storm water pipe.

Every time that it rains, the water bubbles over and out of the drain and sweeps into the schoolyard, through the entrance gate and pushes into the classrooms.

Before carpets can completely dry, the next rush of water flashes through the school.
