She has been a teacher for the past 27 years and believes this is her calling from God.
Ms Bitta was born and raised in Elobret in Kenya as the youngest of four daughters.
She also studied in Kenya to become a teacher.
“I initially wanted to study law, but was forced into studying for my teaching diploma.
That ended up being the best career decision I have made. I enjoy working with the children.”
Ms Bitta joined her family in South Africa in 2005.
Coming from a closed-knit community, she at first found it difficult to a lifestyle where some people keep to themselves, but she eventually settled in thanks to Ms Lucy Schoebel, who helped her swim through the waves of culture shock.
Ms Bitta was once again able to ply her trade as a teacher in 2007 when she became part of the SCA team.
