Dozens of boxers will compete in the ring at Dominators Den in Secunda this weekend.

Spectators can expect 20 action-packed boxing bouts throughout the afternoon on 27 June, with the main event featuring local legend Heindrich ‘The Great White’ Wiese taking on Middelburg’s Kanda Mwambele in a 90 kg heavyweight clash.

Fighters from various clubs, such as Dominators Den Secunda, Dominators Den Ermelo, TNT from Standerton, Jahweh Rapha Recovery Centre, Cobra Kai Pretoria, and Next Rep Fitness in Witbank, will be taking part in this second Rumble in the Jungle at Dominators Den.

The gates will open at 11:00, with the first bell at 12:00, when several junior fighters will compete in bouts of three 2-minute rounds each.

All competitors under the age of 18 will be required to wear headgear. Older boxers will fight without protective gear in bouts of three 3-minute rounds each.

Dominators Den owner and coach Cedric Doyle said the previous event was a huge success among fighters and spectators alike.

“The fighters gain valuable experience and exposure in the amateur ring that prepares them for future professional matches,” explained Doyle.

According to Doyle, the previous event was well supported, with spectators enjoying the action as well as the family-centred atmosphere.

“You can expect more of the same. We will again be selling boerewors rolls and cool drinks.”

Spectator tickets will be sold at R200 each, while ringside tickets are R300 each and will be sold at the door. Space is limited, so be there early to avoid disappointment.
