Help cover medical cost for Angel Nzimande

She sustained sever injuries after she burned with hot water

LEANDRA – Local good Samaritans have jumped on board to help and seek help for baby Angel Nzimande who sustained second-degree burn wounds after she was burned with boiling water on Friday, 18 May.

According her mother, Ms Paulina Nzimande, the two-year-girl was at home with her grandmother when the accident happened.

She apparently ran into the house and said she was thirsty and then grabbed a jar filled with boiling water.

Angel sustained severe burn wounds from her chest to her stomach.

Ms Nzimande was at work when she received a call from family members that her child had burned.

“I told them to rush her to Leandra Clinic.

“However my child was not referred to a hospital. They only dressed her wounds, gave us a Panado syrup and sent us home and said we should return the next day.

“We went to the clinic the following day and were told there was no medication available and should come back the next day.

“I went to the clinic again and was told the same story.

“My child did not sleep after the accident and it is painful to see her in that condition.

“I shared her story with some friends who then decided to help us.”

Ms Nzimande received help to take Angel to Bethal Hospital where they said she had an infection. She was treated and discharged.

People are urged to contribute money, clothes or anything that could help Angel.

“We have managed thus far to raise funds to take her to the hospital, but she was unfortunately not admitted and we are afraid she might become dehydrated.

“With the help of the team we managed to get hold of a few generous sponsors who sympathise with the family and contributed something.

“We would like to thank everyone for your cash donations, they are such a blessing.

“They have made such a difference in this little girl’s life.

“We managed to cover the first doctor’s consultation and I am sure she will receive better treatment and care.

“Thanks to everybody who donated refreshments for Angel,” said one of the group members who want to remain anonymous.

Ms Nzimande thanked everybody who were involved in helping her daughter.
