Secunda gymnasts win many medals

Youngsters perform at competition in Kempton Park.

Gymnasts of the Secunda Gymnastics Club took part in a competition held in Kempton Park on May 8 and 9 and brought home many medals.

Shiloh Holloway won gold medals in the floor category and the overall score, finishing fourth overall.

Rorisang Sehularo won a gold medal for her overall score, while Felisa Kutama also won a gold medal for her overall score, silver medals for the beam category and overall and a bronze medal in the floor category.

Rivoningo Maluleka and Marlienke du Rand both won silver medals for their overall scores, while Chloe Wride, Fumani Sithole, Saoirse O Dwyer, Ansu-Marie Susan, Elri de Beer, Zoë Walker and Janke Pendleberry won bronze medals for their overall scores.

Leah van der Merwe won bronze medals also showed their skills in April. They competed on April 11 in Ermelo.

The artistic level 1 to 3 gymnasts who brought medals home are Felisa Kutama (first in beam, bar and overall categories, second in the floor category and third in the vault category), Shiloh Holloway (first in the beam, bar- and overall categories, second in the vault category and third in the floor category), Mia Grobler (first in the floor category), Marlienke du Rand (first in the floor category, second in the beam and overall categories and third in the bar category), Leah van der Merwe (second in the floor, vault- and bar categories and third overall), Rorisang Sehularo (second in the vault category and third in the bars- and overall categories), Sansa Diergaardt (second in the bar category and fifth overall), Mia Wride (second in the beam category and sixth overall) and Ansu-Mari Susan (second in the vault category).

This club’s gymnasts also excelled on their home ground on April 24 and 25 during the invitational competition held in Secunda.

Kutama was the overall winner once again and also obtained medals for finishing first in the jump and bar categories, second in the vault category and third in the floor category.

Rorisang Sehularo finished first in the vault category, second in the floor category and third in the beam and overall categories while her sibling, Rivoningo Sehularo, finished first in the floor category, third in the bar category and fourth overall.

Holloway mastered his skills and finished first in the beam, vault, bar, and overall categories and second in the floor category.

Van der Merwe also did well in this competition and finished first in the vault category, second in the beam category and third in the floor category.

The other gymnasts who excelled and took medals are Janke Pendlebury (second in the vault- and overall categories), Mia Wride (second in the vault category), Ansu-Marie Susan (second in the beam category and third in the bars category), Fumani Sithole (second in the beam category), Marlienke du Rand (second in the vault-, bar- and overall categories), Elri de Beer (third in the floor category), Zoe Walker (second in the beam category), Chloe Wride (third in the bar category) and Alyssa Diergaardt (third in the beam).
