Mr Sixhanti is compassionate about ploughing back seeds of hope and gratitude into the community

Charity is at the heart of Mr Sixhanti’s work

eMBALENHLE – Mr Bongile Sixhanti (28) is passionate about giving back to the community.

He is a multi-talented young man with artistic skills and a musical talent.

He was born in the Eastern Cape and moved to eMbalenhle in 2002 with his father.

Mr Sixhanti’s late mother instilled in him the values of love, caring and empathy.

“My mother was the most loving soul and made the biggest impact in my life. I still appreciate her even after her death.

His heart was touched when a school friend’s family struggled to buy him school shoes.

“It broke my heart to see him with no shoes and knowing his situation at home was only getting worse and I gave him a pair of my shoes.

“It felt good giving without anything in return except for a smile and a thank you,”

Mr Sixhanti began Running Hearts, a non-profit organisation, that gives him a platform to give back to the community.

“No matter how less fortunate you are, you are still appreciated and valued and this is the message that I want to bring across with the organisation.

“I am inspired by life and even bad days inspire me to do good. Good days make me want to do even greater things.”

Mr Sixhanti believes it is not about having all the money in the world, but it is about being told you are special and unique.

He is also a graphic designer, though he did not study in that field but gained knowlegde and skills through research.

“I have learnt that having the platform to question and develop ideas harnesses greater creativity.”

Apart from the graphic designing, he has also released a mixed tape, Ixhoba.
