Accident on the Volksrust Road claims three lives

“Two of the people were declared dead on the scene, while the other one died en route to hospital,” Mr Van Vuuren said.

An accident on the R23 between Volksrust and Standerton on 21 July claimed the lives of  three people and injured six more.

According to Mr Jan Henk van Vuuren, spokesman of WATCO Emergency Services, two vehicles collided.

“Two of the people were declared dead on the scene, while the other one died en route to hospital,” Mr Van Vuuren said.

“The injured sustained moderate to critical injuries and were admitted to the Standerton Hospital and later transferred to Johannesburg for further treatment.”

The cause of the collision is still unclear.
