Oosthuizen and Mnisi are top cops at the Secunda Cluster Police Excellence Awards

SECUNDA – Const Jabu Mnisi and W/O Oosie Oosthuizen have been awarded the top honours at the Secunda Cluster Police Excellence Awards held at the Sasol Club in Secunda on 27 July.

Const Mnisi received the trophy for the policeman of the year and W/O Oosthuizen for the policewoman of the year.

The award is more remarkable because they are partners in the field and have been a known team of crime fighters in Secunda for the past two years.

Const Thomas Mogadime from Bethal was the runner-up for the men and Const Valencia Koma from Trichardt was the runner-up for the women.

Const MS Vilakazi of Secunda is the police reservist of the year.

Gen Maria Sibanyoni, commander of the eMbalenhle Police Station, received a special award from Brig Sifiso Cele, cluster commander, as the station commander of the year.

The Visible Policing Employee of the Year (level 5 to 7) award winner is Const Cynthia Mtsweni from eMzinoni , with Const Thomas Mogadime from Bethal in second place.

Capt Heintjie Alberts from the K9 Unit was crowned the Vispol employee of the year (level 8-12). Lt Col Maggie Mbokane from Secunda came second and Capt Fires Viviers from eMzinoni third.

The Vispol team from Grootvlei was hailed the best.

Const TL Shongwe from eMzinoni is the detective of the year (level 5-7) and Capt Simon Sakhile Mlotshwa is the detective of the year (level 8-12).

Sgt TP Morifi from Secunda received the trophy for heading the detective team of the year.

The unit for family violence, child abuse and sexual offences received three awards.

Mr Johan Moll obtained the second place as the administrative employee, Sgt Ezekiel Malapela was the best detective (level 5 to 7) in this unit and W/O Nathaniel Sondlane and Cost Nicole Nkosi won the trophy for the best team.

Ms Kotie Moll from Secunda received the accolade for the admin employee of the year (level 8-12).
