Arc-en-Ciel is auctioning off some of their best animals
21 bulls and 86 female bovine of genetic perfection will be auctioned off
SECUNDA – Brahman breeders from as far as Namibia are expected to attend the first ever Arc-en-Ciel Brahman Stud production auction on the Farm Driefontein on Wednesday, 24 October.
This grey and red Brahman stud of Mr Jose Maciel is considered among the best in the country, with a gene pool that has generated a string of pure bred champions throughout the years.
Arc-en-Ciel became a member of the Brahman Cattle Breeders Society on 18 September 2010 and two months, later the first 24 head of cattle was bought at the Felma Boerdery Auction.
The first stud bull, HOT 07 625, was purchased on 22 February 2011 at the Brandwater Production Auction, and the following year the Arc-en-Ciel Brahman Stud entered its first show and began hauling in the champion titles.
Numerous stocks had been purchased during the period of 2011 and 2016 to add to the herd.

Today there are more than 860 heads of cattle in the Arc-en-Ciel herd.
Messrs Hannes Vosloo and Johan Gouws are in charge of the Arc-en-Ciel Brahman Stud and keep meticulous record of all the bloodlines and pedigrees of each offspring.
The stud produced numerous champion bulls, cows, heifers and bull calves.
A prized white bull, ARC 12 36, that snagged several championship titles and that tips the scales on more than a ton, was the overall representative of the Brahman Breeders Society at the Nampo week in Bothaville last year.
According to Mr Vosloo, 21 bulls and 86 female bovine of genetic perfection will be auctioned off.
The seed of three stud bulls have already been ordered. Brahman cattle auctions are known for bringing huge bidding sums to the table.
Potential buyers can view the cattle on the Tuesday before the auction and official bidding will begin at 11:00 on 24 October.
Driefontein Farm 137 is next to SkyHill between Secunda and Evander.
