Cinisela Art Productions hosts successful drama festival at Doleca Hotel in Ermelo
Prizes included R10 000 for the best production that went to the Izifuba Art Group that is based in Ermelo.
Dramatic arts performers from Msukaligwa who were chosen after auditions at various venues in front of the Cinisela Arts Production (CAP) judges, converged at the Doleca Hotel in Ermelo to participate in the CAP drama festival that was sponsored by the National Lottery Commission on Saturday, 15 September.
Auditions kicked off in Breyten, Sheepmoor, Warburton and Davel on 14 July as the CAP crew went in search of raw acting talent.
The weekend of 21 July saw the crew visiting Ermelo, Chrissiesmeer and Lothair, with actors coming in large numbers to showcase their plays.
The judges chose nine groups who received professional mentoring to develop their stage productions for the festival.
The festival saw the groups present their productions with renowned actress Noxolo Monama giving words of motivation.
Prizes included R10 000 for the best production which went to the Izifuba Art Group that is based in Ermelo.
The second placed team, Art Collaboration (Ermelo), walked away with R5 000, while the third place went to Isililo Youth Group (Sheepmoor) who won R2 500. Individual prizes were also handed out to the best actor, Njabulo Mabuza from TACSA.
Tholakele (TACSA) is the best actress and the best director prize went to Siyabonga Nkosi (Breandz Entertainment).
They received R500 each.
CAP is a non-profit organisation that is based in Breyten and aims at developing dramatic arts performers, especially the youth, by nurturing their talent in performing and script writing.
CAP is currently introducing theatre in the region with funding from the National Lotteries Commission and their mandate is to identify, develop and expose talent.
