SECUNDA – The Secunda Police’s station commander, Col Harold Mashile, thanks the community of Secunda for supporting the men and women in blue.
Col Mashile said Secunda’s community is actively involved in the police’s work to combat crime. Many residents voluntarily join groups that assist the police without being compensated for their hard work and long hours of patrolling and keeping the town safe.
“The Community Policing Forum (CPF), all the members of the Sector Policing and the Sector commanders, private security companies, neighbourhood watch, AfriForum and everyone else who joins in to help the police with patrolling, and looking out for suspects and suspect activities, are heroes.
“Your dedication to your community and your neighbourhood is noble and invaluable.”
“We will not be able to combat crime as effectively without any of you.”
Capt Bettina Zondo, spokesman for the Secunda Police, said these community organisations help with visible policing and selflessly serve their community.
She said any police station depends on the co-operation and support of their community.
“This brings about results.”
