TRICHARDT – The community is warned not to be duped into giving their valuables to people who offer them employment.
Capt Noyise Ngqangashe, the station commissioner at Trichardt, issued a warning statement alerting Trichardt residents to beware.
“The perpetrators approach their victims with offers of casual employment. One of the culprits pretends to be a security guard,” explained Const Valencia Koma, Trichardt police’s communication officer.
According to Const Koma one of the robbers will convince the victim to hand over his or her personal belongings for “safekeeping” before the so-called security guard takes the person who is eager for a job, to vacant premises.
While the person believes he or she is waiting in the waiting area for a uniform and safety gear, the culprits make off with the person’s belongings.
