BREAKING NEWS- Sanco-chairman dies in hospital after being shot several times

The zonal chairman of South African National Civic Organisation in the Gert Sibande Region, Mr Bongani Mdiniso, died in hospital on 10 February of gunshot injuries.

Mr Mdiniso was chairman in the Pixley ka Isaka Seme Municipality.

He was travelling from Amersfoort to Perdekop at around 4pm when the shooting took place on 6 February.

According to Mr Irvin Mndebele, Sanco’s acting regional secretary, no one has yet been arrested in connection with Mr Mdiniso’s shooting.

The zonal chairman of South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) is in a critical condition after an attempted assassination on 6 February.

Mr Bongani Mdiniso is the current chairman in in Pixley Isaka Seme Municipality in Volksrust.

According to Mr Irvin Mndebele, acting regional secretary, more than 20 bullets were recovered from Mr Mdiniso’s body.

“He was travelling from Amersfoort to Perdekop at around 4pm when the shooting took place,” Mr Mndebele said.

“We strongly condemn such malicious behaviour,” he added.
