Motorist unknowingly derails alleged stock thieves’ plan

According to a member from Van Wettens Break Down Services, the alleged perpetrators chased the animal across the N2 when it ran in front of the vehicle.

A motorist that was travelling on the N2 between Ermelo and Piet Retief, unknowingly threw a spanner in the works of alleged stock thieves’ plans when he crashed into a head of cattle that they were trying to steal on 5 August.

According to a member from Van Wettens Break Down Services, the alleged perpetrators chased the animal across the N2 when it ran in front of the vehicle.

The suspects then allegedly fled the scene.

No injuries were sustained, the head of cattle was however, killed.

Sheepmoore Police, Van Wettens Break Down Services and the farmer whose animal it was, were on the scene.
