SECUNDA – Cansa Cosmos rewarded its media partners and volunteers who completed a training programme with a certificate and lunch at Kardoesie Coffee Shop in Secunda on Wednesday, 31 July.
Ms Gisele Bosman, community mobiliser of Cansa Cosmos, said they employed individuals to become community mobilisers.
She said it was a privilege to work with the Department of Health and Bethal Hospital.
Ms Bosman said Cansa reached many people by doing cancer screenings and shavathons at various events in the Highveld area.
Cansa visited various schools to create awareness of cancer and Ms Bosman said it was challenging to visit these schools as many of them did not have running water or an admin person that can speak English.
She also thanked Sasol for their support and congratulated the four volunteers that began with a programme last year to train to become community mobilisers.
