eMZINONI – A woman, who wants to remain anonymous, complained about Sassa’s services situated in First Street.
“I had to collect my child support grant. When I and other people went there, they had no electricity. The next day we returned. Before they could help anyone, a man came out and told us that he received an e-mail informing him that the electricity will only be back at 4pm.”
She and the others waited outside and after only 20 minutes the power came on.
They waited for 20 to 30 minutes more to be attended to.
“An elderly lady wanted to ask one of the women something, but the woman told her to move away because she is blocking their sun. Another lady wanted to speak to the same man who told us the electricity was off, but he just ignored her and walked away.”
According to the complainant, one of the female employees were very rude towards everyone including the elderly.
Allegedly another incident took place when the same complainant received less money than what she was supposed to.
When she inquired at the Sassa office, they told her that she withdrew the money in December.
“I was not even home in December. There is no way that I could have withdrew the money.”
After many e-mails, phone calls and even WhatsApp messages, no comment was received from Sassa even though they promised to give Ridge Times comment.
