N17 closed after accident and veld fire

Smoke from a veld fire on the N17 highway near the Leandra tollgate obstructed visibility and five vehicles were involved in an accident.

According to Mr Alf Byleveldt of Jelani Security, the road is now closed.

He said it was a chain accident and two of the vehicles collided head-on.

The emergency services have been contacted and are on their way to the scene.
