Accused back in court for #TesnerMurder

He was previously convicted on three counts of burglary and one of house robbery, and was out on bail for a hijacking charge in Limpopo when Ms Tesner was murdered.

SECUNDA – The man accused of robbing, raping and murdering Ms Corrienne Tesner in Hodgson Street on 23 February, briefly appeared in the dock of the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on 29 August.

The 32-year-old suspect was caught when he broke into Mr Walter van Niekerk’s Secunda home on 12 April. He has been in police custody since.

The man’s older brother was also arrested as an accomplice to car theft, because he accompanied the accused to Limpopo to sell Ms Tesner’s stolen car.

The brother was granted bail on 25 April.

The case was again postponed to 7 October for revision by the Director of Public Prosecution.
