Bethal family team up to clean Bethal’s memorial plain

“We are Bethal residents and our town is important to us. The park should be enjoyed by all,” said Ms Ndimande.

BETHAL – Ms Lindiwe Ndimande gathered her family and a friend to clean up the Bethal Memorial Plain on World Clean Up Day, 21 September.

Ms Ndimande, an employee of Sasol, heard about World Clean Up Day through the Sasol for Good initiative and decided to join citizens from 150 other countries who cleaned up their environment.

“We decided to clean the memorial circle to make it attractive to everyone.

“We are Bethal residents and our town is important to us. The park should be enjoyed by all,” said Ms Ndimande.

The team set out in overalls and protective gear early in the morning and spent several hours getting the plain to be rubbish free.

They collected loads of trash.

“I believe all residents should do something to clean up their areas.”
