eMZINONI – The police are investigating a case of murder after community members discovered a woman’s body in the dam at eMzinoni on Sunday, 17 September.
The community alerted the police when they found the body face down in shallow water at about 2pm.
Delta 1 Rescue Diving and the police’s inland water wing removed the woman’s body from the dam.
According to Brig Leonard Hlathi, provincial police spokesman, a deep, open wound to the woman’s head indicates that she was murdered.

The police are still waiting on the postmortem results to confirm if the woman had also been raped.
The woman is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old.
She was wearing a pink dress when she was found in the dam. The police are urgently looking for information about the woman’s identity.
