Department releases matric results for Standerton schools
Hoërskool George Hofmeyr's pass rate of 100% was yet again accomplished and the school has for the period 2008 till last year proved equal to the task of obtaining that percentage, much to the pride of the principal, Ms Magda Kriel.
Standerton’s matriculants did their level best to make both their alma maters and parents proud and converged at their respective high schools on Wednesday, 8 January for that long-awaited matric certificate.
Thuto-Thebe Secondary School took top honours with a pass rate of 97,8% and Hoërskool Standerton followed on their heels with 97,2%.
The rest of the results that were available at the time of going to press shows Thobe-lani Secondary School with a pass rate of 90,2%, Khula-Sakhile Secondary School with 90%, Jandrell Secondary School with 87%, Ziketheleni Secondary School with 79,6%, Khunjuliwe Secondary School with 75,7%, Azalea Combined School with 69,7% and Stanwest Combined School with 68,4%.

The Standerton Advertiser was met last Wednesday at 9am with learners, some accompanied by parents, mingling on the lawn at Hoërskool Standerton.
Yusrah Carrim boasts a 90,3% with seven distinctions and intends to study medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Other candidates with seven distinctions are Lelanie du Plesssis, Anlumé Mentz and Riekie Womarans and the work force will most likely welcome an occupational therapist, medical practitioner and chartered accountant respectively in years to come.
Other learners with commendable results are Michelle Riekert who obtained six distinctions, Michian Adendorff, Sanelisiwe Bhengu and Stacey Lea each with five distinctions, while Jana Cronjé, Phiwumusa Madela, Anje Nolte, Tia Strydom and Aamina Sulaman each obtained three distinctions.
