eMZINONI – A motorist was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend of 10 January.
The crime prevention unit was conducting a stop and search operation in the area when the suspect was apprehended.
Const Cynthia Mtsweni, police spokesman, said arresting motorists who drive under the influence of alcohol will reduce the number of accidents in the area.
“We are preventing fatal accidents by arresting those who are caught driving while under the influence of liquor.
“Driving under the influence is a serious offence and is punishable by law.”
