Security officers burn tyres in front of Standerton Hospital
Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison said service providers will be paid no later than 1 February.
UPDATE: The strike at Standerton Hospital has been put on hold till Friday, 31 January. According to information, a police presence will continue.
Security officers burned tyres in front of Standerton Hospital this morning, 28 January.
The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) issued a press release saying it has contracts with various service providers to render security services at various government sites across the province.
These sites include clinics and health facilities.
DCSSL has however experienced budgetary constraints since last month and this affected timeous payments to these companies within 30 days in line with government prescripts.
Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison said service providers will be paid no later than 1 February.
