[GALLERY] Springfield community celebrates with a fest

Mr Abram Legodi, a member of the community committee, said they decided that a fun day, especially for the kids of the neighbourhood, was a good way of celebrating their teamwork.

SECUNDA – Residents of Springfields complex and neighbours in Ext 23, Secunda, enjoyed a day filled with fun activities and unity on Saturday, 25 January.

Activities for the Sprinfield Kids Fest included a demonstration and exhibits by emergency services, jumping castles and slides and blood donation at the tent of SANBS’ Teksa branch.

Mr Abram Legodi, a member of the community committee, said they decided that a fun day, especially for the kids of the neighbourhood, was a good way of celebrating their teamwork.

“We were very concerned about the crime in our area, but since we came together as a community and formed our own neighbourhood watch, crime has drastically reduced.

There was no crime reported over the festive season in our neighbourhood and that is a splendid reason to celebrate,” Mr Legodi said.
