Motorists must take caution on N17 at Trichardt turn-off
Motorists travelling from Secunda to Bethal are advised to take the alternative route through Trichardt town.

UPDATE ON N17 ACCIDENT – Police predict that the N17 passing Trichardt will be re-opened at about 1pm today.
Motorists must currently drive through town via Barney Molokwane Street as an alternative route to Bethal.

TRICHARDT – A coal truck fell over and lost its cargo at the Trichardt turn-off on the N17 highway this morning, 31 January.
According to the police, the truck driver allegedly swerved out for a pedestrian who was crossing the highway.
The driver of the truck sustained slight injuries, while the pedestrian, although not hit by the truck, was struck by the spilling coal and sustained moderate injuries such as head lacerations.
ER24 transported the truck driver to Mediclinic Highveld and the pedestrian to Evander Hospital.
The road is currently closed for clean-up.
