BETHAL – A pedestrian was run over by two cars on the N17 highway near Bethal tonight, 31 January.
The accident happened 1km from Bethal in the direction of Trichardt. Emergency services were called to the scene at about 8pm.
The man was initially knocked over by a BMW and then shortly thereafter another car drove over the pedestrian in the road and ended up in the veld.
Bethal Emergency Services (EMS) declared him dead on the scene.
ER24 ambulance services assisted two people who were in severe shock.
Although the road is open for traffic, motorists are cautioned to drive with care as the police’s forensic team is working on the scene.
