Municipality thanks writer for donation to libraries
Libraries offer numerous services
SECUNDA – Mr Simeon Moba Rasedile, a local writer, donated books to the libraries in eMbalenhle and Secunda.
Mr Rasedile donated copies of his second book, Tsea ka Tsebe. He also donated copies of his first book, Mmakgodu A Bobirwa in 2018.
Mr Lucky Mhlongo, spokesman of Govan Mbeki Municipality, thanked Mr Rasedile on behalf of the municipality and the two libraries.
Mr Mhlongo said: “Even in this digital age, our libraries are still very important and provide essential services to the public.”
Govan Mbeki Municipality has libraries in Secunda, eMbalenhle, Kinross, Bethal, eMzinoni, Milan Park, Lebohang, Evander, Thistle Grove, Eendracht and Trichardt.
These libraries have study facilities available, community and general information, reference facilities, internet and computer facilities, photocopying facilities, help with school projects, magazines and newspapers, books and a mobile library service.
Some of these libraries also offer educational material, fax services, typing aids for the visually impaired, activities and auditorium rooms for hire.
The libraries are open from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 4pm and on Saturday from 8am to 12pm.
