#LeaveOurKidsAlone: Join the march against new Comprehensive Sex Education curriculum
The march will take place on Thursday, 13 February at 2:30pm for 3pm.
SECUNDA – An appeal to the public is being made to join a march that will be taking place this Thursday, 13 February.
The march is in protest of the new Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) curriculum that is being given to children in schools.
The new curriculum has raised alarm and plenty of anger amongst parents and religious groups throughout the country.
Representatives feel that the content is too graphic for school children, and that there are topics that are not age-appropriate. The new curriculum targets Grade 4 to 12 learners.
The march will take place at 2:30pm for 3pm. It will begin at the parking area in PDP Kruger Street (across the road from Westpack and Builders) towards Oliver Tambo Drive.
There will be an opening statement where after marchers will continue down the road towards Secunda Mall and back up to the parking area again.
Those who will be joining, are asked to walk on the sidewalk and not in the road.
They are also asked to wear something white to represent the purity and innocence of children.
Placards or banners should be conservative with child-friendly wording. Marchers are also reminded to bring a bottle of water.
