A 30-year-old man is one of several people arrested in eMzinoni today, 30 March, for not complying with lockdown rules of staying at home.
According to Const Thomas Mogadime, police spokesman for Bethal Police, more than 10 people were arrested.
These include taxi drivers who failed to comply with disaster management Act Regulations, 2020 Covid-19 by operating their taxis outside the set hours of 5am to 9am.
Const Mogadime said: “As police, we are still going to effectively arrest people who do not comply with the Disaster Management Act Regulation until the lockdown ends.
“People need to know that we don’t just arrest for fun or to fill up police cells.
“We need everyone to feel safe and protected from the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic,” said Const Mogadime.
