SECUNDA – Police are appealing to the public to take the lockdown period seriously and remain indoors.
“The only time you should be outside of your home, should be to acquire essential services such as medical attention, food, or other goods and services as listed by government,” said Capt Gerhard Elmes, spokesperson for the Secunda Police.
“Those who fail to comply will be arrested.”
He said the public can still certify documents at the community center at the station, but renewal of firearm licences and all non-crime related issues will not be dealt with until the lockdown period has been lifted.
He went on saying that police will go out to residents if they have any crimes or cases that need to be reported or opened.
The public can also report crime or persons who are in contravention of the current lockdown protocols at 017 624 2242 or 017 624 2243.
