Covid-19: Gert Sibande District Municipality disinfects public places

HIGHVELD – The Gert Sibande District Municipality intends to clean and disinfect most of the public places in the region.

The district municipal began with this initiative at the Bethal Correctional Services Centre on Wednesday, 1 April by disinfecting the fleet used to transport parolees.

Ms Bongi Dube, head of communication, said about seven cars, 11 bakkies, one truck, one tractor, two minibuses, and an ambulance were deep cleansed.

“We also gave hand sanitisers to the centre.

“The deep cleansing activities will be rolled out to all identified public facilities, in an effort to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic in the district.”
