SECUNDA – A reward of R50 000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who murdered Mr Chris Botha (34) on 20 May.
Mr Botha, a local lawyer, was gunned down at the Hollow Hog Pizza shop at the Secunda Lifestyle Centre in Ext 22 that night.
Mr Botha and his sister, Ms Louri Botha were inside the shop and closing up their business for the day when four masked men entered the shop.
They grabbed Mr Botha and during a struggle, Mr Botha was shot in the back of the head, where after the suspects ran away on foot.
His family asked that anyone with information must contact Capt Leon Kroucamp at 083 324 1829 or W/O Petro Bester at 082 494 8595.

21 May 2020 – Pizza place owner dies during robbery in Secunda
Secunda Police confirmed this morning that the man who died last night during a robbery, is the co-owner of the Hollow Hog Pizza outlet, Mr Chris Botha (34).
He was a lawyer and the son in law of Ms Estie Louw of Els, Louw and Rasool Attorneys.
According to Capt Gerhard Elmes, spokesman of Secunda Police, Mr Botha and his sister, Ms Louri Botha were inside the shop and closing their business for the day when four men entered the shop.
The four wore masks and gloves.
Ms Botha said the men grabbed Mr Botha and during a struggle, Mr Botha was shot in the back of the head, whereafter the suspects ran away on foot.
It was discovered that the deceased’s firearm, a 9mm handgun that he carried on him in a holster, was missing.
Mr Botha was declared dead on the scene.
Capt Elmes said the motive for the crime is not yet known and an investigation still continues.
