Secunda dancers shine at Dance Internationals

Mieke Viljoen and Lienka du Plessis were both honoured with special awards.

Dancers from Art in Motion Studio in Secunda delivered outstanding performances at the Dance Internationals Federation Colours competition, held at Highveld Ridge Primary School from August 28 to 29.

Mieke Viljoen and Lienka du Plessis were both honoured with special awards for their performances during the competition.

Lienka delivered an impressive performance, winning first place in her modern solo with 93%, third place in her jazz solo, and scoring 85% in her disco solo.

Thomiké-Ann Viljoen claimed second place in the modern solo with 89.9% and also achieved 88% in her Acro Solo.

Other strong results included Amelia Grobler, who scored 90% in the jazz solo, 89.1% in the modern solo and 85% in the acro solo.

Mieke earned 89% in the jazz solo and 87% in the contemporary solo, while Zandré Visagie received 88% for the hip-hop solo and 86% for the jazz solo.

Sthelo Sibeko impressed with 90% in the hip-hop solo and 84% in the contemporary solo. Zoeyanne Le Roux achieved 85% in the acro solo and 83% in the ballet solo.

Alexis van der Walt scored 89% in the acro solo and 81% in the freestyle solo, while Xia du Preez received 86% in the acro solo and 81.2% in the freestyle solo.

Renelle Prinsloo rounded off the studio’s achievements with third place in the freestyle solo and 86% in the modern solo.
