Police release photos of escapees who were re-arrested
The communications officer of the Sakhile Police, Const Duduzile Zwane, said on Friday, 29 May that 11 trial-awaiting prisoners escaped from the holding cells in Sakhile.
Police arrested them in connection with charges ranging from dealing in drugs, housebreaking and robbery to rape.
Minors were involved in the latter charge.

Police and community join forces in apprehending three trial-awaiting prisoners
After the police work of Standerton Police and Sakhile Police, Messrs Thokozani Nkosi, Boy Mlotshwa and Kenny Khumalo are back in custody.
The remaining suspects still at large are Messrs Sibusiso Ntuli, Tshepo Mofokeng, Ntokozo Msibi, Vusi Yika, Mthobisi Nkambule, Mandla Maseko, Sipho Jimmy and Bongani Vilakazi. Const Duduzile Zwane, communications officer of the Sakhile Police confirmed the above a few minutes ago.
Const Zwane undertook as well to keep the Standerton Advertiser abreast of any developments.

Nine prisoners still at large after escape
The communications officer of the Sakhile Police, Const Duduzile Zwane, confirmed a few minutes ago that two of the 11 trial-awaiting suspects were successfully apprehended.
Anybody with information can call the Sakhile Police Station at 017 714 9600.
29 May 4pm: 11 Suspects are on the loose after fleeing from custody today.
According to information, they managed to break a hole in a wall.
Police arrested them in connection with charges ranging from dealing in drugs, housebreaking and robbery to rape.
Minors were involved in the latter charge.
The community was requested to contact the police or #IAm with any information.
The Standerton Advertiser contacted the communications officer of the Sakhile Police via WhatsApp today at 2.51pm for more information and is awaiting a response.
