Ermelo residents participate in online pole about sending children back to school

“My son is asthmatic. I am just too scared to take the risk. He will rather have to repeat the grade next year.”

The Highvelder ran a poll on it’s Facebook Page asking residents if they would be sending their children back to school.

After 75 votes were cast, 52% said yes while 48% said no.

Here are what some people had to say:

Leonie Kriek – My seun is in matriek en hy wil graag sy jaar voltooi. Hy beplan om volgende jaar oorsee te gaan.

Lindiwe Nkosi – No, my son is asthmatic. I am just too scared to take the risk. He will rather have to repeat the grade next year.

Lungile Ngobese – Denying our children to return to school will not help, in fact it will emotionally be distressing knowing that they will have to repeat the grade again next year.

Saretha Ferns – Ek glo ons skole en personeel is goed voorbereid om die kinders se veiligheid eerste te stel. Die virus gaan nie bloot verdwyn nie, ons moet aanpas.
