Police detective in serious condition after accident near Bethal

BETHAL – Sgt Mzwai Nkambule from the Secunda Detective branch was seriously injured in an accident on the road between Bethal and Hendrina this morning, 23 June.

The accident happened just before 6.45am when Sgt Nkambule’s bakkie and a double-trailer truck collided about 8km from Bethal.

Sgt Nkambule sustained serious head injuries and possible internal injuries. Bethal EMS and ER24 ambulance services were on the scene.

ER24 rushed him to Mediclinic Highveld in Trichardt from where he was airlifted to the Union Hospital in Alberton.
