SECUNDA – Ms Rina Louw who has been working at Famsa Highveld Ridge as a social worker for the past two years, retired in June.
The staff at Famsa bid her farewell and wished her a prosperous retirement.
Ms Marcelle Victor, provincial director at Famsa, said the organisation acknowledged Ms Louw for her contribution to Famsa and the Secunda community, especially in the field of mindfulness and compassion towards one self and others.
Ms Victor said: “The organisation’s dignity box project whereby the community filled boxes for women and children in need was Ms Louw’s brain child.
“We will remember her for this project which will still continue as part of Famsa’s initiative to support women and children in distress.
“We encourage the community to still fill and decorate boxes this year, especially now during the lockdown.”
Famsa is open during this time to deliver services such as family and relationship counselling.
People in need are welcome to contact Famsa at 017 631 1593 or 066 192 0408 or 071 363 4379 and make an appointment.
Ms Victor said it is important that people make an appointment as no walk-in clients are allowed.
All clients will be expected to undergo a Covid-19 screening and use sand sanitiser before visiting Famsa’s offices.
People can also buy masks at Famsa.
“It is to ensure a safe and healthy environment for both clients and our employees,” said Ms Victor.
