Ermelo’s Felicia Desmore saddles up horse and rides for Christ

“The Lord will bless you through the love you have for horses.”

Ms Felicia Desmore, an equestrian in Ermelo, had her first horse riding experience with a professional at just six months of age and has since never looked back.

When she was younger an elderly woman, Ms Eunice van der Merwe approached her and said: “You will ride with Christ every time you get on a horse’s back.”

“The Lord will bless you through the love you have for horses.”

Ms Desmore said she believed what Ms van der Merwe told her and from that day on she began her equestrian journey and riding for Christ.

She has since competed in the Mpumalanga SANESA (South African National Equestrian Schools Association) Championship in 2012 and the South African Boerperd Champs in 2019.

One of her highlights was when she joined the South African ‘Calela Boerperd Stoet’ in 2017.

“This year is when my horse won Horse of the show.

“I am very proud to say that I am part of the Calela Team.”
