SACCW request locals to do security check on garden valuables in Ermelo

According to Mr Craven locals must make sure their gate motor is secure. 

South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) for the Gert Sibande District requested that locals secure garden valuables as criminal are targeting them in Ermelo.

This request was made by Mr Theo Craven,control room operator for ACSU and district manager for SACCW Gert Sibande Region, who asked this on SACCW WhatsApp group on 17 November.

According to Mr Craven locals must make sure their gate motor is secure.

The checklist includes:

•JoJo tanks or swimming pool pumps secure.

•Gas cylinders double secure.

•Garden furniture secure.

•Safety gates locked and consider placing a lockable latch top and at the bottom of the gate.

•Garden implements such as lawn mowers, ladders, blowers, weed eaters and bicycles secure.

•Tool shed and garages secure.

•Window burglar bars at home are locked on inside and out.

•Test your alarm system at least once a month.

If you are going away for December please test before the end of November.
