Hospice in Secunda needs your help to moves offices
Shirley and Deon begin with renovations and upgrading.
SECUNDA – The House of Mercy Hospice in Secunda opened its doors in 2018 and can currently accommodate eight people.
Ms Shirley Coetzee realised there was a need for a hospice in Secunda and decided to open one at her house.
She converted her house into a space for the hospice and the office was also operating from the house, but now she found an office at the Besterecta buildings in Secunda.
However, this office needs a lot of work and upgrading before Ms Coetzee and her team are able to move in.
Her husband, Mr Deon Coetzee, has already been doing a lot of upgrading work.
He fixed the toilet and toilet pipes, painted the building and began fixing the roof.
The hospice still needs kitchenware, office equipment, building material for a car port, curtains and curtain rails, and a security gate before they will be able to move the office to this premises.
Mr Coetzee said he bought new parts for the geyser but he is not able to repair it and will appreciate it if a plumber can sponsor them by helping to fix the geyser.
He also began repairing the roof, but he needs a good sealer for the roof so that he will not have to replace the plates of the roof.
“If I use the sealer, it will last for many years and it is a cheaper option than replacing about 14 plates,” said Mr Coetzee.
Vagrants used the empty offices to sleep in while it was vacant for a long time.
The Coetzee couple also need money to buy palisades.
The hospice will also have to pay monthly rent to Govan Mbeki Municipality.
