Body found between rocks at Kromkrans farm in Breyten

Sgt Mashegoane said: “On arrival at the scene the police discovered the body of an unknown man, aged between 20 and 35, hidden between the rocks and covered with grass.”

A body hidden between rocks at Kromkraans farm near Breyten was found on 10 November.

According to Sgt Thabo Mashegoane, spokesman for Breyten Police, a resident who was looking for his cattle in the veld, saw the body and informed the police.

Sgt Mashegoane said: “On arrival at the scene the police discovered the body of an unknown man, aged between 20 and 35, hidden between the rocks and covered with grass.”

The man was declared dead at the scene.

Sgt Mashegoane added that the man was later identified as Mr Lwazi Nyawo, who was reported missing by his family members.

The police visited the house where the deceased was staying  close to where his body was found, and found a spade with what seemed to be blood stains.

“At this stage the police cannot rule out if that is the murder weapon, but the investigation continues.”

No arrest has been made yet and the police are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that can lead to an arrest.
