Truck up in flames in Ermelo

They investigated and discovered that the truck was on fire. They managed to escape.”

A truck was allegedly set alight in Ermelo.

Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman of Ermelo Police, said: “The driver and assistant parked the truck on the corner of Church and De Clerq Street in front of a pharmacy to rest.”

The incident took place around 11.25pm.

Capt Prinsloo said they heard a noise at the window.

“They investigated and discovered that the truck was on fire. They managed to escape.”

The driver sustained minor injuries but, his assistant was admitted to hospital with burn wounds.

A case of attempted murder and malicious damage to property was opened.
