Blood service ensure safety when donating blood
Jaco and Lorraine reach targets with blood donating.
SECUNDA – The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) urged residents to support them by donating blood.
The SANBS needs to reach a daily target of 4 000 units of blood.
Ms Dot Prinsloo, donor relations practitioner at the Secunda branch of the SANBS, said they are looking for leaders at companies, churches and schools to allow the blood service to better reach its donors by making venues available.
Ms Prinsloo ensured the community that blood donation is a safe procedure and all needles and lancets used are sterile and only used once.

Mr Jaco Momberg donated his 200th unit of blood on the last day of 2020.
Ms Lorraine Griffin was the top plasma donor for 2020 in the Teks area and was recently awarded by the blood service for this achievement.
