Secunda cops investigate culpable homicide

SECUNDA – A motorist died and his passenger sustained injuries when the car ended upside down in a water ditch last Tuesday, 16 February.

Mr Thomas Mbonani (55) sustained a deep laceration to his next in the accident on the R580 at a bridge near the intersection with the road between Evander and Secunda.

His red BMW landed in the water on its roof.

The accident happened just before 3 pm.

Mr Mbonani was declared dead on the scene by Langamed Ambulance Services.

Ms Gugu Mahlangu (26) was taken to hospital.

The Secunda Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.

Delta 1 Rescue Diving was called in to search the water for any other passengers who might have been in the car.
