Each nurse, cleaner, kitchen staff member gets care pack.

TRICHARDT – Mediclinic Highveld and Mediclinic Secunda hosted a Valentine’s Day celebration for their staff members on Friday, 12 February at the hospital in Trichardt.

Ms Sphiwe Mahlalela, patient experience manager at Mediclinic Highveld/Secunda, said due to the strain caused by Covid-19 on the frontline workers, the management team of Secunda Mall, various churches in the community and Curro Secunda came together to show their appreciation.

Each of these groups contributed towards care packs that were handed out to employees at Mediclinic Highveld and Mediclinic Secunda on Friday.

Ms Danelle van der Watt, marketing manager at Secunda Mall, said some of the mall’s tenants contributed, but the 432 packs that the mall sponsored was mostly made up by the mall management team.

The care packs were made up with re-usable shopping bags as the mall management team wanted to make sure they are environment friendly as well.

Ms Karin Strydom, representing the group of churches gave 325 care packs consisting of various variable goodies and a shopping voucher.

Learners from Curro Secunda made individual inspirational message cards acknowledging the frontline workers.

Ms Mahlalela thanked everyone who contributed toward this initiative.

“The management team of the Mediclinic Highveld and Secunda wants to express our gratitude and appreciation,” said Ms Mahlalela.
